CHIC BOUTIQUE, MARSH HARBOR, ABACO

So I was leaving the Chemist Shoppe last week when a young lady says "miss I can tell you like nice accessories can I give you a flyer". I must say I liked her approach of asking and not shoving the thing in my hand. So I asked where her shop was and instead of directing me she actually offered to escort me upstairs which was pretty cool. I was definitely impressed by the store, it was really a boutique. Not at all one of those stores that tries to sell everything and is junky and confusing. Right away I saw a necklace I liked and promised to come back on the weekend when I had more time to look around. For some reason that night I could not get that necklace off of my mind, needless to say I went back for it the next day and surely I wore it that night at the Spinacker. Let's establish one thing, I have not been paid for this, neither was I asked to do this, this is not my store and these are not close friends or family members, I just wanted to share the little awesome treasure of a place that FOUND ME! Check them out by all means when you want to get snazzy and jazzy!!!!!!

Brighter than the Sun

Last week Sunday... wasn't excited about posting this.... I have some rare moment when I just throw on something because I'm just not in a fashion kind of mood. I think it's a result of having so much on my plate and too much on my mind sometimes. It's like ummm you can't go naked so put something on. Maxi dress is old from Ross, so is the cardigan. Necklace set: exotica242.com, belt: old Madrags, clutch: Island Girl Boutique ....shoes??? am I wearing shoes... don't recall!! BLAHHHHH I should really be finishing my final paper and not blogging smt!!!!!

                                               

                                   

                                             

Had a very nice weekend in Treasure Cay attending the Women's Empowerment Luncheon. The guest speakers where PHENOMENAL and I was really blessed and enriched. I am humbled to have been recognized for contributing to the lives of young women in the Abaco community. I think it's just important to embrace that which you are purposed to do.

So I threw this outfit together the night before, I'm not a person who believes in shopping specifically for an even so everything worn was already in the closet. The thing about trying to be fashionable is you can do it on a budget. Had these shoes for months and kept wondering when on earth I would be able to wear them...woops there it is I guess.

Born To Win

Just wanted to share that this weekend is sorta kinda a little big for me... I am being honored along with 4 other amazing women for Outstanding Service to the community. My award is particularly for service in working with youth. I am extremely humbled by this. Personally, nothing I have ever done has been for recognition, I believe that I am called to work with young people and that is what I spend my time doing. At first I kept this a secret from everyone because it simply felt strange to be recognize for something that I enjoy doing but my friend Phillippa had to take a minute to share with me that this is something to be proud about. I amproud don't   get me wrong I just feel like I haven't tapped into half of what God desires me to be in the lives of young people. I have been living on this particular island for 7 years and even though the island where I came from is still all the Commonwealth of the Bahamas the naysayers whose opinions really don't matter have said that because I am not from this island I don't deserve the award Kml Kml Kml Kml.... I can't help that I am anointed to prosper and I can't help that I go passionately in the direction of my dreams and I certainly  can't help that I am a selfless person! I am glad I didn't take the "oh I'm not from here so I won't contribute" approach..... Small minds discuss people so its cool, I'm honored to hold such places in their conversation, keeps me current. My pastor says if no one is talking about you it means you really don't matter. I extend a sincere thank you to Tara Diane and her team for selecting me and by extension encouraging me to keep doing what I am doing. Naturally I was born to win DUH!!!!! Excited about the weekend... and super excited about the people who will be there supporting me....

And chile I am so excited about that fashion show!!!!!!
